Andrew Hulse is a composer, instrument builder, and artist based in Oakland, CA. His compositional work magnifies minute sonic moments and employing definite processes, structures, and patterns to bring out the latent beauty and emotionality in the mundane. This is done by employing specific tuning systems in minimalist forms. These aims are achieved through music written for acoustic and electronic instruments and field recordings.
His works have been performed internationally by ensembles such as Quatuor Bozzini, JACK Quartet, Paramorph Collective, Freesound, shshcc, and Continuum Contemporary Music’s HATCH Ensemble.
His latest album Fabric of Light is available for pre-order now.
